Progress

I’ve been busy busy busy trying to make deadlines for various things, and applying for opportunities, and prepping for my first residency of the year. But I am absolutely loving the progress on this piece so far.

Currently I’m just embroidering around the figures and seeds. Then I’ll be adding some fun details to the right side that I’m excited about. I’ve been struggling to get some of the colors I want. I thought I accidentally made red, but it ended up being another orange, BUT I was trying to make green. LOL

I was prepping some yarns dyed in turmeric to over dye in indigo, but during the transition I accidentally modified it. I was excited, because I’ve been wanting a bright red. After it dried; however, it was more of an golden orange color. Still pretty, just not green or red. I considered trying to over dye it, but I do enjoy the color, so I’m going to try on another batch of yarn.
