Black Lives Matter When They Are Alive
Black Lives Matter Mural Project

Located at the MSA Annex in Tucson, AZ
Each image represents a person or situation where a Black life was threatened and/ or terminated due to racial police violence. And while each of these victims made headlines and went viral, their lives matter long before they were harmed by those they should have been able to turn to for safety. The hope is that we begin to value the lives of Black folks, as well as other marginalized groups long before they become headlines. Creating spaces for them to thrive and live without the constant fear of police violence looming over their heads.
